We are VERY animal and pet parent oriented; so, you must love both the clients and their pet children. We have exceptional standards of care and communication with the clients and the team and any applicants must possess both these qualities. If you think you can meet the company’s high standards of care, protect the health and welfare of the many pet children in our care, give an exceptionally fun time to the pets, and offer great communication to their parents we’d love to hear from you!

We are a local business so all dog walkers/pet sitters must live in Kingston, Amherstview or a surrounding area within a 30-minute drive of Kingston, Ontario.

Part Time Dog Walker/Pet Care Provider
Requirements:

Live in our service/coverage area: Kingston, Ontario and Amherstview, Ontario.

Be physically fit and able to commute in all types of weather (severe ice and freezing rain being an exception).

Have access to a reliable vehicle and a valid and clean driver's license.

Be 100% reliable- these pets are living sentient beings and 100% reliant on our care.

Have exceptional communication skills and social skills. The ability to communicate regularly and effectively with Shaggy Dog, pet clients, fellow employs via text message, written journals, phone calls and social media in a prompt and professional manner is an absolute must.

Be able to provide professional references.

Provide a current and clean background check.

Complete online first aid training. ​
Dog Walking
Visits client home 1-2x/day between 11AM-3PM Monday through Friday.
Pet Sitting
Overnight live-in pet sitting. Stay in the client's home overnight with a visit in the afternoon each day.
House Visits
Visit client's homes 1-4x/day or regularly once daily Monday through Friday.
